Sharon Pittman

Artist Statement

Sharon A. Pittman retired from a career as a secondary school art teacher and is now teaching Art and Social Protest and other humanities courses at the university level. She is the author of The Museum for the People, now a textbook adapted from her doctoral dissertation. At this point, she has sufficient time to think critically about her role as an artist in society, thus “emerging” in the studio/productive realm.
