Artist Statement
If art is a mirror which reflects the artist, I would venture to say that my work lies somewhere between the realm of my subconscious and my ethos, interpreting the world through a juxtaposition of contexts. My artwork reflects, reinterprets, and revises the subject matter, so that it loses all sense pre-assumed definition. My aim is to create a farce out the original object so that when it passes through the distorting limits of the medium, it loses authenticity. Objects and subject matter rise above and beyond sincerity, ultimately becoming more truthful and definitive in the process. What the viewer ultimately perceives may be distinct from my intent, but the metamorphosis of perception and reality still take place.
