Artist Statement
Patricia’s monotype paintings are insinuations of landscapes and horizons from distant memories. Her compositions, which are inspired by her fascination with nature’s form and movement, have an organic feel and convey serenity, tranquility and at times, a powerful dynamism.
Her painting process is an experimental approach. With the handling of the oil ink on a smooth aluminum plate a pictorial expression emerges.
Each piece explores light, contrast and texture with colors melding as the inks get carved into the canvas. Her works create a space for dialogue with the viewer that tell a story which is then interpreted through the viewer’s own perspective and emotions.
Patricia is a Swiss Argentine artist and graphic designer based in Los Angeles. She studied Motion Graphics at Art Center College of Design and subsequently won international awards for her work.
Her multi-national and cultural backgrounds define her work. While her Swiss background guides her towards simplicity and minimal form and function, her Argentinian background inspires her to go beyond the fundamentals and approach her work as an artist unbound by rules and limitations.
