Artist Statement

I create human scale intimate catalytic color paintings. These expressionist gestural abstractions move rhythmically. Color, line, and texture range from delicate and soft to vigorous and exuberant. Dynamic cycles span from calm to explosive, containment to eruption. Vibrant resplendent colors in varying thick and thin paint reflect transformations from nature’s quiet to turbulence and catharsis. Inspiration is drawn from the grace and exaltation in dance, the drama and comedy of human emotion, and the contemplative qualities of the Pacific Ocean.
