Artist Statement
My artwork deals with the themes of family, history, immigration and home. My parents were Holocaust survivors and I was born in Israel. My mother was a seamstress and all her life was mending holes in old clothes. I think that she did this to mend the holes of her past. In my practice I layer paper and used fabric with glue, paint and thread. It is an emotional process in which I uncover and understand the layers of my childhood. My art is my way of mending holes in my life. It is a way of connecting the thread of the past, present and future.
