Artist Statement
I am a painter and metalworker living in Los Angeles. I work in oils, acrylics, mixed media, and metal.
My work is driven by light and how it interacts with the human form. In a two dimensional painting, light defines what we observe. Every figurative work describes a human being, but the form contains a rich inner existence. As an artist I hope to influence the viewer of my work, and as I react to whatever I can observe of the model, I hope to also create an experience for the viewer.
In addition to my art, I have spent many years studying the science of biological rhythms, with an emphasis on variations of light and color, and their effect on animals and people. My degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies with a certificate in Design.
