Artist Statement
One day I began noticing on my doorstep all these free, high quality magazines promoting expensive, high end products. At first I was only curious, but then I became interested in the quality of the covers as material to paint on. As I collected and painted on these covers, it was a natural progression to combine the marketing concept of "targeting," by using the universal symbol of the target, to turn these paintings into contemporary art that increasingly speaks to our times.
