Artist Statement
I paint portraits of emotions that are often felt but rarely acknowledged. Detachment from feeling leads to mental, physical and societal illness. My quest as an artist is to journey inward to free myself of these ills and return to express what I have discovered.
In creating my work, I combine my four primary areas of study: art, technology, film and the human condition. I have turned my paintings into multimedia installations by creating an Augmented Reality (AR) app for smartphones and tablets. AR deepens the story in the painting by incorporating animation, film/video, sound, and interactivity.
