Artist Statement

Colleen’s series titled "Heterogeneous" (diverse in character and content) creates a unique visual experience. Her body of work lands evocatively between lyrical and California hard-edge abstraction. She begins by collating materials such as found objects, re-purposed photographs, paper, and textiles – then assembling and deconstructing each piece to “what is enough”, before committing to a photograph. Colleen’s renderings create a painterly potential of the medium in photography.
