Artist Statement
I enjoy showing glimpses of all layers in my work all the way back to the primed white canvas itself. It represents how I see life, our minds and memories; so deep, with so much floating around in there, and once in a while we come across a random memory that we thought had disappeared all together. This is what I paint, my subconscious, nostalgic thoughts in abstract form in hopes of them connecting with others through what Carl Jung called our collective unconscious.
With its many layers, my work is like looking through windows of our mind into infinite worlds. Each color is carefully mixed, each detail carries a life of its own, each mark adds purpose and depth. I aim to connect us to our collective unconscious through these floating subconscious thoughts on canvas as a reminder that we are all connected through a giant web of energy.
