Artist Statement
My work is inspired by the natural world. Travels abroad and within the U.S. are reflected in my landscapes and florals. Using acrylics I begin my preparation with various gels to achieve a textured ground. Pouring on mylar, using various papers dipped in paint, and incorporating collage produce hidden surprises that move me forward. I love to experiment with different tools, brushstrokes and palettes to illuminate sunsets, reflections on water, sunlight on mountain tops, and trees changing through the seasons.
My art is a work in progress, a joyful and challenging journey that has opened up exciting vistas.
