Artist Statement
In my life as an artist and scholar, I have witnessed the potential art has to hold people in their psychological healing and development and in the creation of containers for social organization and cultural and spiritual expression. Thus, I use my artwork as a portal to access ancestral wisdom and archetypal medicine. I create visual representations of the evolution of consciousness inspired by the way indigenous spiritual traditions emphasize the maintenance of health and spiritual alignment through the adornment, cleansing, and marking of the head. All my artwork is created holding mythological, psychological, and feminist lenses while weaving and integrating intentional artistic processes and earth-based spirituality. My art is for those who seek communion with Spirit, especially for those who are called by the Sacred Feminine.
