Artist Statement

Through my abstracted work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of “shadow” as a metaphorical interpretation of relationship of how people relate to each other.  With influences as diverse as race and culture, new insights are manufactured from both opaque and transparent textures.  

Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by the nature of the” shadow”.  What starts out as jogging companion soon becomes a platform for me to finesse the chaos of race, politics and humanity!  If you peel the colorful layers, what do you see…who is behind the “shadow”?.
