Dear Artists:
The end of each calendar year demands a bit of reflection and looking ahead.
I'm proud of the many successes and opportunities that we have provided in 2009.
Here are a few highlights:
- The constant excellence of our exhibitions and programming featuring high-profile curators and art professionals who are deserving of our impressive bench of emerging artists.
- Our new and ongoing collaborations with MOCA, LA Arts Month, Christies, Miracle Mile Players, L.A. Mart Design Center, DCA, LACAC, the City of West Hollywood and other civic, public and private institutions.
- Our successful auction which exceeded expectations in a difficult economic environment.
- Our new added visibility included the publication of our first hardbound catalog, 3 local and international television pieces and the development of a new constituency of young collectors.
- Our new public art initiatives.
The realization of a mission is only as good and effective as its stakeholders.
Our lean organization is fortunate to have a tireless staff, a committed, artist-centered
Board of Directors and a growing list of advocates and community supporters at
the ready as we move forward. 2010 is especially notable as we are celebrating our 85th
Anniversary of providing opportunities, resources and services to local artists. Our
85th year will be acknowledged with a few key exhibits and programs that will both
celebrate our impressive legacy and focus on our current roster of artists.
Finally, on a personal note, please permit me to express my sincere appreciation to our
artists for your ongoing commitment to our mission and community, your willingness to
grow and challenge, and ultimately the fierce talents that you each explore well done!
Please download the renewal materials below and join us for an amazing new year.
Best always,
Peter Mays, Executive Director
