Each year LAAA offers an exclusive opportunity for local artists to receive one-on-one access and feedback from trained art professionals from the gallery, museum and art publishing worlds.

In 2009, portfolio reviews were held on Saturday, October 24. At that time, artists were able to meet with the following professionals:

• John Souza: Curator at Andrew Shire Gallery
  
• Annie Wharton: Co-Director of The Company gallery in Chinatown
  
• Anne Martens: Artist, writer, photographer and all-around art aficionado
  
• Hillary Metz: Former director of prominent contemporary art galleries in Santa Fe and Los Angeles
  
• Andi Campognone: Director of Andi Campognone Projects
  
• Alex Couwenberg: Los Angeles based painter
